Welcome to Swiftshore - Directions

The village of Gorran Haven is on the south coast of Cornwall, 3 miles from Mevagissey and 11 miles from St. Austell.

From St. Austell and the A390 take the Mevagissey road (B3273). Keep on this road, past Pentewan where you will see the sea, up the hill and on the brow of the hill turn right signed for The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Gorran. Stay on this road past the entrance to Heligan through Gorran Churchtown with the church on your left and the Barley Sheaf pub on your right, down the hill, up the hill and abut 100 yards after a 90 degree bend to the left turn right to Gorran Haven. Follow the road down for approximately 1 mile into the village and just by the shops and before the beach turn right and go up Foxhole Lane. The lane is very steep, narrow and yes, two way. Go up the hill about 350 yards and turn right into Quilver Close immediately after the big terracotta painted house. We are the only property on the right hand side of the close.

If you have a Sat Nav, be warned:

  1. It will probably want to take you through Mevagissey to get to Gorran Haven - fun BUT the roads are steep, narrow, two way and the village very busy in the summer so be prepared to have to reverse lots of times.
  2. Also once in Gorran Haven it will take you to the lower part of Quilver Close, off Lamledra Hill (wrong!). There are two parts to Quilver Close, with only a footpath between, so either follow the directions above or if you do go up Lameldra Hill ignore the first turning into Quilver Close on the left, continue up the hill, take the next left into Foxhole Lane, then left again into the top part of Quilver Close and we are on the right.
